How to lock your iPad Screen

The Guided Access feature is great for the kindergarten classroom. This feature allows the teacher to lock the iPad screen on a specific app. This will keep the students on the app you choose, so they will not venture away to other apps. This features also ensures that the students will not move or delete apps that are on the iPad. The Guided Access feature is easy to use an can be accessed through the General Settings on your iPad. 

How to use Guided Access

- Go to the Settings screen on your iPad. 
- On the settings tab go to the General heading and click on it.


- Now click on the accessibility tab.


- Under Accessibility go to the Learning section. Under the Learning section will be the Guided Access button. Click the Guided Access button ON


- After you click on the Guided Access it will prompt you to put in a passcode. 


- Now you're ready to open the app you want your students to work on. Open the app. Triple-Click the home button and a new screen will pop-up that will allow you to adjust the Guided Access for that app.


-To stop the Guided Access feature you just click the home button three times. The passcode will come on and you put in the code you chose in the beginning. Once you enter your passcode you can select End, and you will return to your home screen. 





How to Enable Restrictions

 - Go to the Settings screen on your iPad.
- On the settings tab go to the General heading and click on it.


- On the right side under General click on Restrictions
-Click on Enable Restrictions


- You will be prompted to set a passcode and enter it in twice. 
- Now you can set your Restrictions. Slide the white button to the right to enable the restriction.The button will change from green to white, when the restriction is set. 


- I set all the Restrictions when my students are using the iPads. This way they can't delete apps, go into the iTunes Store, or go on the internet. 



How to add Wallpaper to your iPad

- Download the image you want to use and save it to your iPad.
- Pick the image you are going to use and Screen shot the image.
-You Screen shot an image by holding down the home button and the power button simultaneously.
-Now the image is in your Camera Roll.
- Go to Settings

Click on Wallpapers & Brightness


-Find you image under Camera Roll.
-Adjust your image to fit the screen.


- Click Set Screen


How to create folders

- Creating folders for your apps is easy.
- I put my apps in folders according to the content of the app.
- Hold down the app until it begins to wiggle.
- As the app is wiggling, drag it on top of another app.
-Now you can name the folder in the box above.


-Continue to drag apps into the folder by holding the app down and waiting for it to wiggle.
